Sensei Jonathan Tissue
Owner & Chief Instructor
Sensei Jon began studying martial arts at the age of 6 years. He holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Northern Chinese Kung Fu and a Black Belt in Taijutsu. He has studied San Shou under Master Julio Trujillo.
In addition to being the 2003 World Kuoshu Champion (Brazil), he also was the 2005 WKA US Muay Thai Champion, 2005 World Kickboxing Championship Silver Medalist, and the 2006 World Kuoshu Champion (Singapore).
A 2005 graduate from Towson University, Sensei Jon has a passion for advancing his own training and skills, as well as helping others reach their goals through the Martial Arts.

Sensei Ines Quintana
Instructor & General Manager
Sensei Ines began studying martial arts at age 11 due to her great interest in the self-defense aspect of the arts. She began teaching in 2005, instructing students of all ages. Sensei Ines enjoys sharing her passion for the martial arts through teaching and is dedicated to helping others achieve their goals in their martial arts training and in life. She holds a Black Belt in Northern Style Kung Fu and a Black Belt in San Shou. Sensei Ines presently trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo and San Shou (of which she is a second degree black belt candidate for 2012).
Academically, Sensei Ines is a 2008 Graduate of the College of Notre Dame. Currently, Sensei Ines is pursuing a law degree at the University of Baltimore, which gives her a unique edge in teaching martial arts in a rational and clear manner.

Sensei Duncan
Instructor
Sensei Duncan has been studying Martial Arts since the age of 8. He has earned a black belt in Tien Shan Pi Kung Fu. Currently Sensei Duncan is working towards his second degree black belt with Sensei Jon. With a consistant passion for helping people reach their goals, Sensei Duncan furthers his training to better help, and train others to their full potential. Although he no longer competes, Sensei Duncan has competed in tournaments in various categories, including catas- empty hand/and weapon, and sparring. One of Sensei Duncan's favorite things about the Martial Arts is seeing the look on the students faces when they accomplish something that they never thought they could do. Currently Sensei Duncan is in school majoring in Health and Fitness Studies

Sempai Nan
Assistant Instructor
Sempai Nan is retired Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. She served at Fleet Hospital Five in direct support of Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Sempai Nan was trained as an Independent Duty Corpsman and maintained a trauma focus, leading to a tour as the Medical Department Head at SEAL Team TWO.
Following her retirement, Sempai Nan returned to school at UMBC where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Work. Following this, Sempai Nan attended the University of Maryland School of Social Work where she obtained her Master of Social Work degree. Always striving to do her best, Sempai Nan maintained a 4.0 GPA in all of her upper level studies.
Sempai Nan currently works as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in the role of therapist with children and families in need. Again focusing on trauma, Sempai Nan works with traumatized children and helps them heal as individuals and as family communities.
Finally, Sempai Nan currently holds a Green Belt and is working diligently toward attaining her Black Belt. Embracing humor, honor, and self-discipline, Sempai Nan seeks not only to grow as an individual, but to help mentor others as well.

Sempai Greg

Sempai Greg has been studying martial arts at Maryland Martial Arts since 2008. Sempai Greg loves working with both children and adults and feels that teaching others and helping them reach their goals makes him a better martial artist.
Sempai Greg is currently a red belt under Sensei Jonathan and Ines and will be testing for his Black Belt soon! He currently trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and San Shou.
