As you know, you must present things differently to a child, teen, or adult. Our instructors are trained in various teaching concepts and skills. You can rest assured that your child is being taught in age-appropriate manner.

__What is the student teacher ratio?
National standards for student/teacher ratios maintain that for beginners, this should be 10:1, for those with experience, 15:1. We consistently stay way above these guidelines ensuring that you or your child will receive the attention needed to realize the benefits you want. Often we have 3 to 5 instructors on the dojo giving Maryland Martial Arts a 3:1 to 5:1 ratio.

__Does the school have appropriate equipment allowing for safe, effective practice?
Our state-of-the-art flooring system allows you or your child to safely learn a comprehensive system of self-defense without the fear of injury. Further, various padded aids are employed to help your child confidently develop mental and physical self-defense skills.

What equipment will I need to purchase?
Upon enrolling into our test trial program, you or your child will receive a uniform at no additional charge!
After several months as you or your child advances they will be encouraged to participate in light sparring sessions as part of their lessons. Safety gear is required, so this must be purchased for an additional fee.
